Traditional Food
Eat like an Alexandrian
Alexandria's table is the Mediterranean's best-kept secret. Around the Eastern Harbour, fish restaurants sell the morning catch by weight — grilled sea bass, fried red mullet, calamari and the city's famous shrimp tagine — served with tahini, baladi bread and chopped salads.
- Sayadeya — fish baked over spiced rice with caramelized onion; the signature Alexandrian dish.
- Koshary — Egypt's beloved carb symphony of rice, lentils, pasta and crispy onions.
- Ful & ta'ameya — fava beans and Egyptian falafel, the classic breakfast.
- Feteer meshaltet — layered pastry, honey or cheese, best from a corniche bakery.
- Freska — the seaside wafer sold along the Corniche; the taste of an Alexandrian evening.
The gala dinner menu showcases these classics alongside international options; dietary requirements can be noted during registration.
