1- Alexandria - Pearl of the Med. Tour (Saturday, 28th of March)

Alexandria is a Mediterranean port-city and the second largest city in Egypt, it has a very impressive and storied past, beginning with its founding by Alexander the Great around 331 B.C. Nicknamed the Pearl of the Mediterranean and affectionately referred to as Alex by locals.

The Tour explores some of Alexandria most famous places, which includes:

  1. Alexandria Port Authority.
  2. Alexandria Port Museum.
  3. Alexandria National Museum.
  4. Bibliotheca Alexandrina (https://www.bibalex.org/en/default)
        which includes:
    • The library and its history.
    • Manuscript Museum.
    • Antiquities Museum
    • Al Sadat Museum (late Egyptian president, Nobel Prize winner (peace price)
    • The world of Shady Abdel Salam Museum (Famous Egyptian director, screen writer and creative designer)​
    • Alexandria across the history.
  5. Lunch at the Greek Marine Club
Tour Fees: 75$
Time: 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
Departure/Return Location: Hilton Green Plaza Hotel
The Tour fees Includes: Tickets – Transportation – Lunch
Minimum Number of Participants: 8
Notes: The tour includes a lot of walking, so participants may need to wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
 

2-Marlog 9 Conference Reception

The warm-up Reception is taking place at Al Zahraa Hall - the Hilton Green Plaza Hotel.

Reception Fees: Free of Charge
Time: 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: The Orchid Hall - First Floor - Al Zahraa Hall.
Dress Code: Business Casual - (an indoor area)

3-First Day Gala Dinner (Sunday, 29th of March)

The First Day Gala Dinner is taking place in the Hilton Green Plaza hotel.

Dinner Fees: Free of Charge
Time: 8:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Location: Hilton Green Plaza Hotel – Pool Area
Dress Code: Business Casual, but it might get chilly at night, as it's an open air area. We recommend bringing a jacket to the dinner, as the temperature might decrease in the evening.
 

4-Treasures of Saqqara Tour (Wednesday, 1st of April)

When many travelers think about the pyramids of Egypt, the first thing that comes to mind is the Giza's famed monuments, but there's another group of pyramids lies in the Necropolis Site of Saqqara that is considered one of several other notable necropolis sites near Cairo which offer impressive sights and hold great archaeological significance. In fact, Saqqara may be even more interesting than Giza, as it contains lot of the magnificent reminders of the early architecture of the pharaohs and some of the Old Kingdom's most dazzling treasures.

  2. The Imphoteb Museum
  3. The Pyramid of Unas
  4. the Mastaba of Kagemni
  5. The Red Pyramid of Dahshur
  6. Pyramids' texts of TITI
  7. Lunch on the Great Nile River

Notes:
  • The tour includes a lot of walking, so participants may need to wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
  • Participants may need to bring hats, bottles of water as it may be very sunny.
  • Participants may need to bring Egyptian Pounds with them to buy souvenirs.
